    Originally from the state of Washington, Dr. Schmidt now lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, two boys, and cat. Alongside his passion for dermatology, Dr. Schmidt enjoys everything great-outdoors - including hiking, skiing, and camping. He is always looking for good music, book, and podcast recommendations.

    Dr. Schmidt completed his undergraduate education at Harvard ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Chemical and Physical Biology. He then moved to San Francisco to complete his MD and PhD at the ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of California San Francisco (UCSF), from which he graduated with highest honors. He continued at UCSF to complete his dermatology residency and postdoctoral research. He is a board-certified dermatologist and member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).

    During his PhD and postdoctoral research, Dr. Schmidt studied fundamental mechanisms of the immune system. He has contributed to numerous, peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals of basic and clinical science. Dr. Schmidt’s immunologic expertise informs and augments his approach to dermatology.

    Dr. Schmidt is funny, compassionate, and knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable & validated my concerns. He provided insights & information that dermatologists for decades have missed/ ignored or not bothered to share.

    Dr. Schmidt is an excellent dermatologist. Very thorough and treats you like you are his only patient. He is very kind and explains things so you can understand what's happening. He grows his hair out long and donates it. I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt to anyone looking for a dermatologist.
