This year began like so many others鈥攆ull of enthusiasm, celebration, and as always, the promise of being one step closer to ending cancer.
What unfolded came as a surprise, but the grit it revealed in everyone at Huntsman Cancer Institute wasn鈥檛.
Patients faced appointments without loved ones鈥攁n obstacle that took strength.
Care providers worked long hours鈥攁 test of resilience.
Wellness staff innovated their services鈥攁 task that took creativity.
Computer technologists moved swiftly to accommodate work from home鈥攁 feat that took a lot of teamwork.
Cancer prevention teams were reassigned to aid in the fight against COVID-19鈥攁n act that took agility.
Researchers continued their search for deeper knowledge鈥攁n effort they couldn鈥檛 dream of stopping.
Donors and fundraisers still found ways to give鈥攁 quest that took devotion.
We applaud all of you who鈥攐n the front lines or behind the scenes, in person and at home鈥攚ork to continue the lifesaving mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute, even during the most challenging times.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to watch all of you rising to face the challenges of this past year in order to serve our patients and communities with such extraordinary skill and grace. You are amazing. On behalf of everyone who is touched by cancer and whose lives you have touched, thank you.
