Two Employees Receive 2023 Staff Excellence Awards

Striving for excellence is at the heart of our organization's ethos. Huntsman Cancer Institute is thrilled to celebrate two outstanding individuals who exemplify this commitment. Lindsey Henderson and Liliana Mulato are among this year's award recipients. This prestigious award recognizes . They were honored at a luncheon ceremony September 2023.

Lindsey has worked at Huntsman Cancer Institute for the better part of 10 years and has enjoyed being able to work in both the hospital and research areas. 鈥淚 have learned so much from so many wonderful, caring individuals,鈥 says Henderson. 鈥淚t is such an honor to work with such an incredible and supportive team, who help teach me new things every day. It is such an amazing thing to say you work for an organization whose vision is to deliver a cancer-free frontier.鈥

In the fall of 2021, Henderson鈥檚 supervisor, Julie Vincent, tasked her to assist with a company-wide compensation project. Throughout, Lindsey worked closely with an external consultant to create a revised compensation structure, a new Huntsman Cancer Institute compensation philosophy, and a benchmark for all current staff positions. 鈥淟indsey met with 100+ managers and conducted an analysis of more than 800 people over the span of six weeks,鈥 says Vincent 鈥淎s a single mom of two wonderful 人妻中出视频ren, this was a sacrifice for them, but Lindsey did it with no complaints and a smile on her face.鈥

鈥淚 love that my role at Huntsman Cancer Institute is dedicated to dissipating the barriers that many underserved communities encounter when trying to access health care, particularly cancer care,鈥 says Mulato. 鈥淭he work I do is fulfilling to me at a personal and professional level.鈥

For more than 10 years, 人妻中出视频 of Utah alumna Liliana Mulato has played a significant role as a patient navigator for Spanish-speaking patients and their families. In 2021, she was promoted to program manager and now leads three patient navigation programs. She oversees the Hispanic Patient Navigation Program, the Rural Navigation Program, and the American Indian Navigation Program.

Mulato鈥檚 supervisor of more than 12 years, Donna Branson, values her outstanding ability to connect with Spanish-speaking patients who are not familiar with the United States health care system. 鈥淒uring her time as a patient navigator, Lili has had more than 7,500 encounters with patients and families,鈥 says Branson. 鈥淪he is able to meet patients where they are, listen to their challenges and concerns, and successfully advocate for them with members of their health care team.鈥
