Support & Coaching for Newcomers

Redwood 人妻中出视频 Center (Salt Lake City) is the primary care home to many former refugees. We proudly welcome newcomers from around the globe. Accessing health care can feel overwhelming and confusing at first, but we are here to help you.

Our care team provides support and coaching for patients who are new to our health care system. We hope to create an efficient, culturally sensitive, and high-quality experience for all of our patients.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

The care team is here to help you. Please let us know if you need additional help, are confused, or need clarification.

Arrive a few minutes early to make sure your appointment can begin on time.

What to Bring

  • A form of identification (ID)
  • Insurance card
  • Any medications you are taking
  • Co-pay

How Long Your Appointment Will Be

You can schedule a short visit for one to two symptoms. You must schedule a longer visit for three to four symptoms. Your provider may ask you to schedule another appointment if they cannot meet all of your needs in one appointment.

Tell the team member who helps you schedule your visit all the symptoms you have. This way they can help schedule the right visit length for you.

Interpreter Access

You have the right to an interpreter, both in the clinic and when you call us on the phone. You may change the interpreter at any time. Learn more about interpreter services.

Virtual Access

For some symptoms, you may schedule an appointment with your provider on your phone. This is called a virtual visit. See symptoms that you can schedule a virtual visit for.

You will need to download the Zoom App or MyChart App to have a virtual visit.

Phone Use

Turn your phone on silent when you are in the exam room. This makes sure you get the most time you can with your provider and care team.

Voicemail Box

Please make sure your voicemail box is set-up and has space for messages so your care team can notify you with critical health information.

Referral Information

You do not need a referral to see one of our medical providers. If you have any medical records from a previous provider, please bring them to your appointment or have your provider fax them to us at 801-213-9919.

This is especially important for patients who received treatment overseas or through a Utah-based initial screening clinic.

Resettlement Information Collection

Everybody Is Welcome graphic with that text in different languages

We collect the following resettlement information:

  • Resettlement agency
  • Date of arrival
  • Country of birth
  • Initial health screening clinic

This information is collected in patient charts if the patient discloses their background. It assists care teams and the system to:

  • identify gaps in care,
  • explore opportunities for dedicated resources, and
  • provide cultural best practices within a patient鈥檚 health care experience.
