Research to Prevent Blindness Awards Unrestricted Grant to Moran Eye Center

Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) has selected the John A. Moran Eye Center at the 人妻中出视频 of Utah to receive an unrestricted annual grant of $115,000 to support eye research.

The funding began January 1, 2024, and is the fourth year of a five-year award.

RPB awarded the funding based on a thorough review of criteria, including Moran's , laboratory environment, and clinical and scientific staff, as evaluated by RPB's renowned Scientific Advisory Panel. The funds will be deployed at the discretion of Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Distinguished Professor and Chair Randall J Olson, MD, to provide maximum flexibility in developing and expanding eye research programs and fostering creative planning beyond the scope of restricted project grants.

"We couldn't be more grateful to have a partner like RPB supporting the groundbreaking research taking place in our 20 labs and centers here at the Moran Eye Center," said Olson.

Since it was founded in 1960, RPB has channeled more than $407 million into eye research. As a result, RPB has been identified with nearly every major breakthrough in vision research in that time.
