Types of Eyelid Lifts

U of U 人妻中出视频 offers upper and lower eyelid lifts. Your surgeon will decide which type of procedure is best to achieve your desired results.

Lower Eyelid Lift

This procedure can improve puffy lower eyelids, bags under the eyes, and dark circles under the eyes. You also go home the same day after your procedure.

During this hour-and-a-half long surgery, your surgeon will make a cut below your eyelashes and remove, add, or redistribute fat and skin before closing the incision.

A couple of things determine if you're a candidate for a lower eyelid lift:

Bony support - Your surgeon will determine if your cheekbones can withstand the removal of fat and excess skin without causing issues in other areas of your face.

Skin elasticity - In order to avoid damage to your eye, your surgeon will perform a snap test on your lower lid by pulling the skin millimeters away from your eye and letting go. The skin needs to snap back into place in order for you to have a successful surgery.

If your skin isn't elastic enough, you could experience scaring that exposes your eyeball to air. If your skin doesn't pass the snap test, your surgeon will discuss other options with you.

Sometimes eyelids can be tightened with a separate surgery to correct this problem ahead of a lower eyelid lift.

Upper Eyelid Lift

An upper eyelid lift is a good option for those who have excess skin that's overhanging. If you can't see your eyelid (when applying makeup for instance) or your eyelid is hanging over your lashes, you could be a good candidate for this procedure.

This hour-long surgery has fewer risks than lower eyelid lift surgery, but your surgeon will need to evaluate the position of your brow to give you the results you desire. You'll be able to go home following your procedure.

To determine if an upper or lower eyelid lift are the right decision for you, request a consultation with one of our facial plastic and reconstruction specialists.
