(SALT LAKE CITY)鈥擣emale athletes recovering from injuries or who want to prevent getting hurt or improve their performance now can find expertise for their unique needs at the Women's Sports Medicine Program at the 人妻中出视频 of Utah.
The 人妻中出视频 of Utah Orthopaedic Center, 人妻中出视频 Sports Medicine, and 人妻中出视频 of Utah 人妻中出视频 Care have opened the Women's Sports Medicine Program, the first of its kind in the Intermountain West. Housed in the 人妻中出视频 Orthopaedic Center in Research Park, the new program offers female athletes gender-specific expertise for injury recovery and prevention and improved performance.
"Women athletes have unique needs. There are specific injury patterns, and prevention and rehabilitation strategies are necessary to get women athletes back to form as soon as possible," says Amy Powell, M.D., an orthopedist and board-certified sports medicine specialist seeing patients in the new program. "Our goal is to provide the type of high-level, multidisciplinary care women athletes need and deserve."
The program also provides access to sports nutritionists, exercise physiologists, and injury prevention programs, according to manager Kim Cohee, DPT. "Our team approach, with clinic hours convenient for active women, is designed to offer quality and convenience in a state-of-the-art setting."
In addition to Powell and Cohee, the Women's Sports Medicine Program's team of experts includes sports medicine specialists Emily Harold, M.D., Pamela Hansen, M.D., and Whitney Meier, DPT. Cohee and Meier, both with a special interest in women's sports medicine, will provide same-day physical therapy treatments.
