ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of Utah ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans announced today it will remain in the federal health exchange, continuing to provide insurance to Utahns on the Affordable Care Act. Currently, serves 5,500 members through the exchange, and 130,276 members across all its health insurance products. Additionally, in 2018, U of U ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans will expand statewide, offering coverage in every county throughout the state. U of U ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans has expanded its presence each year since the opening of the exchange.
"ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of Utah ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans is committed to an organizational triple aim: improving our members' experience and quality of care; improving the health of our population; and reducing the per capita cost of health care," stated Chad Westover, CEO, ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of Utah ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans. "We realize the vital role UUHP plays in providing coverage to vulnerable populations in our state — particularly with Molina's announcement to leave the exchange — and are committed to providing quality, affordable care to individuals throughout Utah."
U of U ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans' Provider Network is the most similar to Molina's, so by enrolling with UUHP, most Molina members will be able to continue the relationship with their current provider.
"ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of Utah ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Plans wants all our members, whether they be commercially insured, on the individual exchange, or on Medicaid, to have access to the best healthcare in Utah" says Russell Vinik, MD, Chief Medical Officer. "In this uncertain time we feel it is important to send a message that the citizens of Utah must have access to the best healthcare at an affordable price. As the Medicaid population and the Individual Marketplace population continue to show similarities, we continue to develop innovative and integrated approaches to ensure member receive the right care at the right time."
