It鈥檚 the early morning party that heralds the biggest match up of the week in college football 鈥 and this week ESPN鈥檚 College GameDay is taking place right here in Salt Lake City. Hundreds of Utes are expected to pack President鈥檚 Circle to see if Lee Corso puts on Swoop鈥檚 costume as his pick, or what sign wins the 鈥渟ign up for game day鈥 challenge.

While lots of fun is sure to be had, there are some risks involved. Take care to avoid these five potential injuries.

1. Sprained Ankle

The crush of the crowd can be intoxicating, and painful. Be sure to watch your step and protect your space. You don鈥檛 want to spend game time in emergency room.

2. Burst Ear Drum

When Corso puts on Swoop鈥檚 head (and we all know it鈥檚 going to happen) the hoots and hollers from President鈥檚 circle will be heard as far as Wendover. Don鈥檛 let them blow out your eardrums, stash a pair of ear plugs in your pocket.

3. Dehydration

What if Corso puts on the bear head at pick time? Ute tears will certainly be flowing. Don鈥檛 let them lead to dehydration, be sure to be drinking plenty of water.

4. Paper cuts/Splinters

Those signs can be sharp! Poster board can leave a serious mark, and you don鈥檛 want an injury on your hand when it鈥檚 time to clap for all the Ute touchdowns!

5. Exhaustion

Getting up at 4:30AM is a tiring proposition. Make sure you take time for a catnap in between the broadcast and the big game. After all, you want to be awake for every amazing minute of Ute play!
