Huntsman Mental ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Institute (HMHI) welcomes , as our Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds speaker on October 19, 2022. His presentation is titled “Behavior and Cognitive Status Assessment Using Nearables and Wearables."
Dr. Gari Clifford is Chair and Professor of and Professor of . Initially trained in theoretical physics, Dr. Clifford’s research focuses on applying signal processing, machine learning, and physiological modeling to medicine to classify, track and predict health and illness. Beginning with cardiology, critical care and maternal/fetal health, Dr. Clifford has spent much of the last 10 years developing programs focused on mental health and neurological diseases.
While on faculty at the ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ of Oxford, he co-founded the Sleep & Circadian Neuroscience Institute, focusing on sleep and mental health. He also founded the Center for Affordable ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵcare Technology at Oxford, which led to the Co-Design Lab For ÈËÆÞÖгöÊÓƵ Equity and Safe+Natal at Emory. Through these initiatives, he is committed to addressing health equity and developing sustainable solutions to healthcare problems in resource-poor locations, with much of his work focused in Guatemala.
Dr. Clifford is a champion of Open Access data and Open Source software, particularly through his leadership of the and contributions to the over the last two decades.
